To celebrate our new Fall/Winter 2019 collection, Raised by Wolves partnered with our friends at Lopez who graciously hosted a launch party in Montreal. RBW relocated our design HQ back to Ottawa, ON in the summer of 2018, so this was our first ‘official’ homecoming event in Montreal. We owe a lot to the city of Montreal. For close to 10 years, the city played an integral role in our growth, allowing us to thrive as a part of its vibrant creative community.
Founded by long-time industry players in Montreal, Lopez opened in the fall of 2018 on Rue St-Hubert, a location dubbed by some as “The Plaz”. The historic area has seen a major overhaul within the last few years with a variety of new shops, bars, and restaurants (and one of the few official Quebec Cannabis stores) opening along the strip. Graeme Anthony, Lopez’s owner and founder, expressed excitement around opening his new shop in the area. It’s a location where, he feels, they can be a part of the foundation and growth of the community for years to come.
The retail landscape is rapidly changing, but to say ‘brick and mortar’ is dead is misguided. Successful retail stores today are no longer only places to shop but spaces for community involvement and collaboration. At Lopez, Anthony and his team host shows on a regular basis and stock product from many up-and-coming local designers, artists and musicians. For Raised by Wolves, Lopez is not only a place to touch, see, and feel the high quality product we produce, but a space in which to meet and discover others who share similar interests.
Thank you to Lopez for hosting us in Montreal. If you can, support your community and shop locally!
